Barbara Melvin

Meet Barb Melvin, our dedicated and passionate Early Learning Lead Teacher at Susanna Wesley United Methodist Church. Barb joined our team on September 16th, 2016, and has been an invaluable asset to our community ever since. With over 45 years of experience working with children and within the church, she brings a wealth of knowledge and love to our early learning program.

Barb was inspired to work at Susanna Wesley because of her genuine enjoyment in nurturing and educating young minds. She believes the church and early learning environment provide an excellent foundation for children to grow and thrive.

Outside of her role at Susanna Wesley, Barb enjoys a fulfilling family life with her husband Vince, their three grown children, and a beloved grandson. Their two eldest children are married, with their son working as an aerospace engineer and their youngest daughter as a biomedical engineer. Their oldest daughter has a career in retail, and together with her husband, they also conduct auctions.

In her free time, Barb loves to read and indulge in her creative side through various crafting activities. She is actively involved in her parish, Christ the King, and remains dedicated to giving back to her community.
One of Barb’s all-time favorite children’s movies is The Lion King. She appreciates the film’s portrayal of character growth and development, which she believes are essential values to instill in children. With Barb’s warmth, experience, and commitment, we are truly blessed to have her as part of our Susanna Wesley family.
