Child Care Center

Overview

Susanna Wesley’s Child Care Center is dedicated to creating a safe and secure environment for all participants. We offer a stimulating atmosphere where elementary-age people can grow socially, emotionally, physically, and spiritually through developmentally age-appropriate practices. We recognize that children learn through play, and we strive to create a climate that will encourage exploration, experimentation, and creativity. We give special attention to fostering a positive self-concept in each camper through creative and structured learning opportunities. We offer a Before and After School Program during the school year and a Summer Camp.

Child Care Center Director Raeanne Atwood leads a staff team certified in CPR, First Aid, and Safe Gatherings. The center is licensed through the Kansas Department of Health and Environment.

The Susanna Wesley childcare curriculum is a discovery-based learning experience that allows each individual child the opportunity to move through age-appropriate learning activities. Our teachers use developmentally appropriate practices to develop lessons based on a themed unit. We are an inclusive Christian-based center, and religion is used in the classroom through prayer before each meal and teaching God’s love in activities. We celebrate God’s love for us every day. A newsletter and special notes are sent via our communications app. Parent-teacher conferences are available upon parents’ requests.
